The Murray River flows from snow capped mountains of the southern highlands, to its mouth located at the Great Australian Bight, South Australia. Many of these River Red Gums are hundreds of years old, requiring periodic flooding to survive. There is much debate as to how we can restore flooding regimes, considering so much water is now being extracted for agriculture.
