One of the most memorable and photographically challenging trips I have ever experienced, was my climb up to the summit of Mt. Bowen, Hinchinbrook Island. The world seemed so far removed, and so irrelevant whilst being up there. There was always an eerie silence, apart from the occasional freezing whisps of cold wind. To have the ability to look down at the Island gave me a new sense of urgency, it is a fragile landscape that deserves our utmost respect and the highest order of protection. Too many beautiful places in Australia have been reduced to wastelands, and we can not allow there to be any more.
